This word can be defined in a million different ways, ok, maybe not a million but it can seem that way.
Today I had the opportunity to learn what “Community” really means. I had the pleasure of sitting down with another local social media manager, essentially my competition. Throughout the meeting we discussed our business platforms, our clients and our plan for future expansion. Never during this conversation did “my competitor” hide his pricing, his database per say or his intents. I was taken back at first by his eagerness to indulge this information. I mean really… we build a business based upon our own success and not that of others right? I felt a connection with this person the moment I sat down. He understood the world of social media, the importance of client care and the feeling of belonging to a “clients family”. I really did feel part of a “Community” when we shared our success stories, our struggles and our efforts to please each and everyone of our clients. It was through this meeting that I truly felt that what we do as small business owners, social media managers and relationship builders is what makes us part of a “Community”. I want to thank my “competition” for allowing me to be part of his “Community” and to express my gratitude to those who have the same passion for their business, clients and community as I do!
